A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when booking hunts except when booking an un-guided duck hunt then a full payment is required. Select one person from your group to coordinate your dates and make your payments. All deposits and payments for hunts must be made within 14 (fourteen) days of receiving your invoice or you risk losing your dates. All waivers and the balance of payments must be made prior to the first mornings hunt. Deposits and payments may be made by check, major credit card, or Paypal. Balance must be made in cash, prior to the first hunt please make arrangements so that it does not delay your hunt. A company check can be used only with prior notice and approval NO PERSONAL CHECKS IN THE FIELD. We will continue the early pay program we enacted for the spring snow goose hunting. This will allow those who wish to participate to reduce their hunting fees by up to 5%. The requirements will continue to remain the same; the total payment less the 5% for the early pay discount must be received within two weeks of receiving your invoice. (Due to increased credit card fees and charges we will no longer take credit card or paypal payments for the 5% early pay program) Please do not pay your deposit that is required within two weeks and months later request the discount, as this is unfair to those who participate and pay the full amount within the two week time deadline. Hunters 17 and younger that are accompanied by an adult client receive $10.00 off the price of all hunts; please let us know when booking your hunt. Please keep in mind that this maybe the first day of your hunt but your guide has been working from before sun up to well after the sun is down for the last thirty to ninety days straight. Your guide has a very hard job organizing, setting, moving, and cleaning your fields. They hunt every day in the rain, snow, and ice whether it is hot or below zero with wind chill. Please remember that when speaking with and tipping your hunting guides.
Picking a Guide or Outfitter We are not the cheapest service in the state or the most expensive but we have gained a reputation by being fair, honest, and friendly. When picking a guide service references mean almost nothing since anyone can give you there best or the only ones they have, look at how long they have been in business and to the guides themselves. A red flag is when guides or outfitters are coming in with extremely low prices and unbelievable last minute deals, is there a reason they are not booked up and why are the rates so below market rates for a guided hunt? Nor should you fall into the trap of we averaged so many a day rather ask how many per person and how many groups did they run. Over the last 7 plus years we have operated at a 65-70% repeat client list and have booked or almost booked solid every year we have been in business. This is no accident our guides and staff work tirelessly in an effort to gain our clients trust and confidence and remain committed to that goal. Things to keep in mind and look for is, does your guide show up ahead of or on time every morning, are they friendly and courteous, are they knowledgeable about the quarry you are after and is there enough equipment in the field and does it function correctly and not breakdown all the time? If so you should be in good hands. I feel personally confident that our guides, staff, land, and equipment deliver on all of these points' day in and day out. Unlike many in the industry we began in Missouri and remain here, hunting only on our private lands. We have made a conscience decision to remain a small family sized business. We could easily add more guides serving even more people and making more money, but we would rather focus on offering our customers a more personalized family style service ensuring you don't get lost in the crowd. I believe this is why we have many of the same clients coming back with us year after year, some for well over 5 years now. Jon R.
